Everybody, Somebody, and Nobody Picnic News

by Pastor Pete Panitzke on July 25, 2019

You’ve probably heard the story… Everybody thought Somebody would do the work of the church picnic, when in reality Nobody volunteered.
That’s not quite the case.

The Thirty Mighty Women and Men (See 2 Samuel 23:24-39 for this obscure reference) have signed up for the picnic as you can see on the Picnic Volunteers attachment. But there are lots of areas that where help is needed. Please put our Benaiah, leader of the Thirty, (Bob Zastrow ) at ease by emailing him that you can help – muscle work on Saturday or Sunday, cooking, serving, helping with the kids games, etc. Or sign up this weekend at worship.
Nobody/Somebody/Everybody Giving News
When it comes to financial support of God’s work here at St. Paul’s, it seems that Nobody just assumes that Somebody will give. It seems that Everybody is taking part… and for that we give thanks! The initial financial reports for the fiscal year that ended in June indicate that our giving to the Mission and Ministry Fund and the Mortgage Fund were right at what we had hoped! In addition, A Cool Million gifts are at $569,000 with over $120,000 in additional gifts committed.
Attached is the letter for pick up in the narthex this weekend. Those not picked up will be mailed on Monday. There are wonderful gospel victory stories included – they remind us that our gifts are really all about lives changed for eternity. Thank you for every gift!
Other News
I am enjoying reading about the work that our member Kara Darling is doing on her Kingdom Workers mission trip to Malawi. If you would like to read her daily log, click here.
The weekly worship folder is attached. We continue our Grace Wins message series with a study of Romans 4.
God bless your weekend!
Pastor Pete
