Jesus Dies on the Cross

Jesus Dies on the Cross  | John 15:12-13, John 17:1-4, 24-25, John 19:1-30

Jesus teaches us to love one another in the same way he loves us. He adds that the greatest act of love is to die for your friends. This is exactly what Jesus does.

Before being put on trial and sentenced to death, Jesus prays for himself, his disciples, and for all believers. He wants everyone to stay close to God forever. Jesus loves everyone so much.

Then Jesus endures torture and is hung on a cross, where he dies. By dying on the cross to take our sins away, Jesus gives the ultimate proof that...

God is loving.

Love is the gracious gift of your goodness; Love is the patient fruit of your care; Love is the gentle work of your Spirit, Who is the source of love ev’rywhere.

You loved me first, Lord, sending me Jesus. Then I responded, trusting your Son. Now you invite me to love my neighbor, Showing your true love to ev’ryone.
