Our daily Bible readings for today encourage us to persevere. In Luke 18:1-30 Jesus teaches us: Don't give up

• Don't give up on prayer - The Parable of the Persistent Widow. Jesus wants to be persistent in our prayers. 
• Don't give up on yourself because our God is merciful - The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
• Don't give up on our children. Notice that they were bringing babies - the same Greek word to describe Jesus when he was a newborn baby wrapped in swaddling clothes. It is never too early to bring our children to Jesus. 
• Don't give up on the individuals you think are impossible to reach - The Rich Young Ruler because "nothing is impossible with God."

Our reading from the Psalms also encourages us “Don’t give up.” As you read Psalms 24-27, hear the psalmist call you to persevere:

• Psalm 24 - Don't give up on the King's promise of blessing
• Psalm 25 - Don't give up when you remember your past failures
• Psalm 26 - Don't give up on prayer
• Psalm 27 - Don't give up on God. He will answer: "Wait for the LORD."

Notice in each of these psalms, where we can find hope... in the house of the LORD...

• Psalm 24 - the Place where the King of Glory enters 
• Psalm 25 - where my eyes can ever be on You
• Psalm 26 - the house where You live
• Psalm 27 - where I can see the beauty of the LORD. 

Don't give up on coming into God's House to worship him. There he proclaims is unfailing love and faithfulness. There we find hope. By faith, we wait. 

I remain confident of this:
    I will see the goodness of the LORD
    in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD,
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the LORD (Psalm 27:13-14).
