When you say, "I forgive you," does that mean, "That's OK. it didn't hurt"? Or "That's OK, I don't think what you did was wrong"? Or "That's OK, you can do it to me again"?
This weekend we are going to look at God's promise of a New Covenant in Jeremiah 31:31-34. The foundation of that new covenant is forgiveness. But we will see that wasn't saying, "It didn't hurt," or "It wasn't wrong," or "You can do it again." Forgiveness is God's undeserved choice to love those who sin against him.
Join us as we claim that forgiveness anew and ask for the Holy Spirit to make us forgiving like our Father in heaven.
Praying for your children / grandchildren / nieces and nephews
I have been using The Power of a Praying Parent over the last year to pray daily for my children and grandchildren. The prayer this morning was that they might live free of unforgiveness. I've attached the prayer. If you want to bless your the children in your life, this book provides a prayer for each day of the month that touches on all aspects of a child's life. I recommend it!
The power of a praying parent evident in WLHS Contact
The Spring 2018 Wisconsin Lutheran High School Contact magazine illustrates the importance Christian parents and caring adults in the lives of our youth. This month's edition features a number of St. Paul's members:
- Nathan Wranovsky who is this year's valedictorian and class speaker (page 2 and 12)
- Meghan Ludke who is this year's salutatorian (page 12)
- Joan Bauman and her family who have established an annual scholarship in honor of her husband George (page 3)
- Nick Bauman's testimony of the influence of Christian teachers and coaches on his life (page 8)
See the entire magazine online here.
God's blessings on our school in answer to prayer
The fact that both the valedictorian and salutatorian in the WLHS class of 2018 are graduates of St. Paul's Lutheran School speaks highly of the academic excellence of our school. But Nathan's and Meghan's parents didn't send their children here just for the academics. They welcomed a partnership with a Christian school to help their children grow in their love for the Savior.
If your child (children) are of school age, we invite you to partner with St. Paul's Lutheran School. As a congregation, we are committed to making Christian education available to all. Not only do we provide subsidy for every child through our regular offerings, but we also provide tens of thousands of dollars more in tuition assistance and participate in the Wisconsin and Milwaukee Parental Choice programs. Contact School Administrator Seth Fitzsimmons ( ) to schedule a tour and have your questions and concerns answered. Enrollment for 2018-2019 is now open.
