Pastor's Blog - Reformation Day!

Reformation Day!

Posted by Pastor Pete Panitzke on

In 1517, Dr. Martin Luther, a professor at the University of Wittenberg, asked for a debate about the church practice of selling indulgences. He posted the debate theses for his fellow scholars to read. Little did he know that the theses would be translated and reprinted. Little did he know that his request to debate would change the world in countless ways. Little did he know how that it would impact people living 501 years later.

But God knew! That's why we celebrate the Reformation. It isn't about the man, but about the God of Truth who used that man to bring to you and to me the simple message. God loves me... not because of what I have done... but because of what God's Son has done for me... and that nothing can separate me from that love.

That love is grace alone.
I cling to that love by faith alone.
I can know of this love through Scripture alone.

God bless your Reformation Day meditations, dear fellow saints, God's holy people through faith in Jesus Christ. Amen.
