Jesus told his disciples: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me" (Matthew 16:24).
This weekend we begin a three-part message series exploring what it means to "Take Up the Cross" at different stages in our lives... as a youth, in middle age, and in the "golden years." It is our prayer that we can gain a better appreciation of the burdens that our fellow Christians may be carrying so that we might help them bear the pain of their cross. It is also our prayer that we might be able to claim "the joy of the cross" that Jesus looked forward to and that James speaks of.
In preparation for the message, read or listen to Psalm 25.
