Pastor's Blog - Living in an Age of Miracles

Living in an Age of Miracles

Posted by Pastor Pete Panitzke on

The October 2017 Messenger contains updates from the members of the Ministerial Team.

Seeing Miracles - An Invitation to Praise

The miracles that Jesus performed during his earthly ministry were physical miracles that people could see, touch and experience to reassure them that Jesus really was the Son of God and our Savior.

While we don't see those kind of miracles, we do want to celebrate that the Holy Spirit is performing things that only God can do in people's hearts, bringing people to faith, giving them courage to confess their faith, giving them a willingness to sacrifice of themselves in amazing ways.

The Messenger's lead article entitled Living in the Age of  Miracles  celebrates some of those amazing things that God is doing among us here at St. Paul's.

Asking for Miracles - An Invitation to Pray

The Messenger also shares some of the opportunities and challenges that your pastors and staff are facing and ask for your prayers. "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective" (James 5). We want God to do so much more through us to bring so many more people close to Christ as their Savior. So join us in praying for more miracles of the Holy Spirit.

The current draft of the Messenger attached. We are still proofreading it, so there may be a few things we will correct before printing. But I wanted to send it out before I was gone for the rest of the week.

Here I Stand

This weekend we will continue our celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation. This week's lesson takes us back to a reformation that took place 2600 years ago... a return to Scripture Alone. Read that lesson here.
