Pastor's Blog - Happy New Year???

Happy New Year???

Posted by Pastor Pete Panitzke on

For over 1700 years, the Christian Church has begun the church year with the four Sundays of Advent leading up to Christmas. (The windows in our sanctuary follow the church year, beginning with Advent or the Coming of the King window in the left front of church.) So this weekend we begin a new year. Happy New Year!

What the World Needs Now

On the weekends of Advent, we are going to study texts from the Prophet Isaiah that help us understand Jesus as God’s Gift of Love to us. This weekend, we face the fact that sometimes the Enemy seems to be winning the spiritual battles going on around us. When Isaiah saw this happening in his time, he came to God in a prayer based on God’s Gift of Tough Love. Read this prayer here in preparation for our study this weekend.

Wednesday Advent Services at 3:30 & 7:00 pm

Join us as we take a closer look at three beloved carols. There will be a Christmas hymn sing 15 minutes prior to each service.

There is a soup supper between the Wednesday services.
