Do you have a Brawny kind of life?

Enjoy this old commercial to let a grandma show you what a Brawny kind of mess is.

My life is filled with Brawny kind of messes.

The people around me have Brawny kind of messes too.

That’s the picture that came to mind this morning as I read Isaiah 40:25
“I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.”

I need a Brawny kind of God who can blot up (or blot out) all my sins.

These thoughts came to mind as I look forward to this week’s Family Church message Love: The Lifeblood of the Family Church based onEphesians 3:13-21. We do have a God with Brawny kind of love!

This morning I also read the latest edition of The Voice of the Martyrs magazine. One of the articles told of an Iranian Christian who was being tortured and made a commitment before God to love his torturer. That’s a Brawny kind of love! “Love covers over a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8).

Is there a family member, co-worker, a classmate, a friend whom you find hard to love? Is someone torturing you in some way? We don’t condone any sin that people commit, including sins against ourselves. But if we are going to make God-glorifying decisions in those difficult situations, we need a Brawny kind of love that blots out transgressions, that loves even those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44).

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to hear God speak to me in his Word about Love as the Lifeblood of the Family Church. I want the Spirit working in me to give me that Brawny kind of love.

Hope to see you this weekend.
