Daily Devotion & Counseling and Care Ministry News

Posted by Pastor Pete Panitzke on

“He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” This is a surprising ending to a frightening book. Watch the video devotion (click here) and then read Zephaniah 1-3 here.
The New Testament lesson (read 2 Timothy 2 here) contains Paul’s instructions for ministry to his co-worker Timothy. He encourages him to "be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus." He warns about the dangers of false doctrine but gives this promise: “The Lord knows those who are his” (2:19).

Prayer: LORD, thank you for knowing us, claiming us as your own. Crush us with the knowledge of our sin and then grant us strength to claim this promise: ""He will take great delight in you." Amen.

Pastor Bonack will spend part of his time over the next nine months serving as an intern at the Strong Program at St. Marcus Lutheran School on Milwaukee's north side. (Learn more here.) He will graduate with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling next spring. He has already assembled a team to plan for a counseling and care ministry. We are pleased that St. Paul's is is already offering the following:

  • Responding in Faith to Abuse SeminarRegister today for the Saturday October 17th seminar to better understand the tragedy of abuse and how we can respond as individuals and a congregation.
