Our mission is By every possible means we bring every person within our area of influence closer to Christ.
If we are going to carry out that mission, we all need to grow in our own spiritual life and grow in our godly influence on the people around us.
Suggestions for Growth
1. Worship every weekend.
Let nothing keep you from coming into God’s presence to learn from Him and to worship Him. By being here every weekend, you are also making a confession – to your family members or friends or anyone who knows you. They can see “Nothing is more important than my relationship with my Savior.” Don’t let “good things” to do crowd out the “best thing” of a relationship with your Savior. Remember we have Wednesday night services too (click here) and you can watch the messages online (click here).
- Read God’s Word daily.
My spiritual growth really took off when I accepted the responsibility for my own spiritual growth. It is “work” to get started. Kind of like the “work” it was to develop a habit of brushing your teeth every day. But now “you just do it” without thinking about it. Daily reading of God’s Word will become that way for you too. The first few days (perhaps just 10 minutes a day) will feel awkward. But soon “you just do it.” I’ve attached the Bible reading plan I use. There are lots of them on any Bible app.
3. Connect with fellow Christians.
That’s what small groups and volunteering are really all about. Here are three things you can do this month:
- Attend GroupLink on Tuesday, September 24 at 6:30 pm to get into a small group Bible study. Register on the Connection Card in worship or reply to this email.
- Attend Financial Peace University beginning Wednesday, September 11 at 6:30 pm. This is a small group that uses Dave Ramsey’s material to understand finances from a godly perspective. Register on Connection Card or reply to this email.
- Enroll your children in Kids Club – a small group for kids where they grow in their love for the Savior and get to know other children. Click here to enroll. It starts Sunday, September 8 at 9:15 am.
I’ve attached this week’s St. Paul’s News. God bless your weekend and your worship!
