2 Hospital Miracles from a Generous God

Posted by Pastor Pete Panitzke on

God answers prayers!

Last spring Jake Strande suffered a life-threatening head injury. Many of us knew him and his family and were praying for him. I was there in the hospital asking God to do a miracle and protect his life through two frightening surgeries.

This morning I read that Jake will be starting in the Muskego Boys Volleyball game in the State Quarterfinals played at Wisconsin Lutheran College. Read the JSonline article here. I’ll be at the game to see the power of our God in person!

Last night’s miracle happened at Aurora Sinai when I visited Roger. Right after I got into his room, a hospital tech came in to take him for a test. I asked if I could have a quick prayer. Immediately Roger asked the hospital tech if she would care to join us in the prayer to which she agreed. Then Roger said, “Now there are five of us.” There were only four in the room… Roger, his wife, the tech and me. Then I remembered. “Always add one,” the theme from last week’s message.

Where’s the miracle? The miracle in that room was not physical healing. It was the miracle of God’s church.

  • God’s people are comforted by God’s Word.
  • God’s people share God’s Word.
  • God's Church grows in answer to prayers!

A Generous God Creates Generous People with a Generous Vision

This week we begin a new message series that leads us to wonder... what amazing things will God be able to do among his people here at St. Paul's?

  • This weekend we celebrate a Generous God who cares for us!
  • The following weekend, we celebrate our identity: we look like our Father in heaven. A Generous God creates Generous People.
  • In the last week of the series, we will look to the future and consider the opportunities God is placing before us. God has given us aGenerous Vision to bring more people closer to Christ.

Prepare for this weekend’s message by reading Luke 12:13-48.
